Dance Marathon Retreat Day at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital!

Children’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon (DM) is a nationwide movement involving over 300 colleges and universities. Students involved in a campus’ DM organization spend a year gaining leadership, teamwork, and business experience while raising funds for their local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital. We are proud to have four universities in West Michigan raising funds on behalf of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH).

On Saturday, October 19, over 40 members of the Dream Team from Calvin University DM, Grand Valley State University DM and Western Michigan University DM spent the day at a retreat hosted by the hospital. During the session, students learned how to communicate and lead more effectively on their school campus. They also learned how the funds they raise help patients and families at HDVCH. Lunch was a great time for everyone to continue networking and enjoy catering by CMN Partner, Panda Express. To end the day, students were taken on a tour of HDVCH to see firsthand how their support makes a difference.

Last year, these three schools alone raised over $120,000 to support 20 programs and services that benefit patients and families treated at HDVCH. The collective fundraising goal for 2020, is over $150,000.
