Speedway Donates 7,000 N95 and 3,000 Surgical Masks to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital

The call went out.

And the response came roaring back.

When Spectrum Health and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation reached out for help finding supplies for health care providers on the front lines of the COVID-19 epidemic, donations and assistance poured in.

Including support from our Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals partner, Speedway. Speedway has donated 7,000 N95 masks and 3,000 surgical masks to help protect medical professionals on the front lines of the COVID-19.

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, a member of Spectrum Health, along with 10 other CMN Hospitals in COVID-19 hotspots received this generous donation. These vital supplies will help support clinical staff and patients seeking care in West Michigan.

“On behalf of all the caregivers who work on the frontlines of the 11 member hospitals who received this generous donation, we are grateful for these much-needed masks from Speedway,” said Teri Nestel, interim president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Speedway’s commitment to the well-being of local medical professionals has never been more needed or more appreciated. It’s comforting to know that these doctors and nurses have the needed resources necessary to care for those who depend on children’s hospitals now and into the future.”

Since 1999, Speedway has raised more than $6.5 million for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. The majority of funds come year-round from customers who contribute via a donation prompt while checking out or in donation canisters at each store. Thank you, Speedway, for your continued support.

Thank you Speedway!
